How to connect the app to the New Generation Router

Connecting the app to the router for the first time
To connect the Videotron Wi-Fi app to your New Generation Router, you must first ensure that your device is connected to your home’s wireless network.
  • Once your mobile device is connected to your network, open the app.
  • Wait a few seconds while the app loads. 
  • The first time you connect, you will be prompted to enter your router’s password.
    • If you have never changed your router’s password, please create one. Otherwise, use the administrator password that you use to connect to your router’s configuration interface.
  • Confirm the password by tapping the hook in the top right hand corner.

If everything worked, you should now be connected to your router. 

Finding your router’s password to connect to your mobile device 
By default, your router does not come with an administrator password. Therefore, if you have never created an administrator password for your router, the app will prompt you to do so when you connect to it for the first time. Don’t forget to jot your password down and keep it in a safe place for future reference.  

Otherwise, simply jot down the password that you used to connect to your router’s configuration interface. 

It is important to not confuse your router’s administrator password with your Wi-Fi network passwords. Your administrator password allows you to access your router’s configuration interfaces, while your Wi-Fi network passwords allow you to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
