Terminal does not work with 4K televisions that are not HDCP compatible (HDCP 2.2). HDCP is a protocol that secures Ultra HD content and protects it against piracy. Very few televisions sold today are HDCP incompatible.
Accessing Ultra HD content with a home theatre system
The equipment used to access Ultra HD content, including your TV, HDMI cables, and home theatre device, must be Ultra HD-compatible.
Scenario 1 – Your home theatre is compatible with Ultra HD, complies with HDMI 2.0 standards and uses High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP 2.2).
Connect the Terminal to the home theatre device with an HDMI cable. The Terminal must also be connected to your Ultra HD TV using an HDMI cable.

Scenario 2 – Your home theatre is NOT compatible with Ultra HD, does not comply with HDMI 2.0 standards and does not use HDCP 2.2.
The Terminal must be connected to your TV directly using an HDMI cable. Only the audio output should be connected to your home theatre. Please see the Home theatre section.

Viewing Ultra HD content on your 4K TV:
The equipment used to access Ultra HD content, including your TV, HDMI cables, and home theatre components, must be Ultra HD-compatible.
Your TV and home theatre must comply with HDMI 2.0 standards and use High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP 2.2).
HDCP 2.2 is required by content producers to ensure adequate copy protection.
We recommend using the cable that came with the Terminal for optimal image quality. If a replacement cable is used, the new cable must comply with either the HDMI 1.4 (Category 2) or HDMI 2.0 standards to allow for Ultra HD viewing. If you encounter display problems when using a replacement cable, please use the cable provided by Videotron.
I have an illico 4K Ultra HD PVR but I can’t watch Ultra HD content on it.
To enjoy Ultra HD content to the fullest, you need the following:
-A 4K television, an illico 4K Ultra HD PVR (with HDMI 2 cable plugged into your TV) and Ultra HD content. Use the HDMI 2 cable that comes with your PVR.

When your PVR is on, it automatically works in Ultra HD mode so you can watch channels and content in Ultra HD. If content is not available in Ultra HD, the PVR will convert the image to the best HD image quality possible. Set your TV’s aspect ratio to 16:9 for an optimal television experience.
How do I know if a channel is available in Ultra HD?
You’ll see a UHD symbol next to the channel logo—just check the left-hand side of the Program Guide.
How do I know what’s available in Ultra HD on channel 900?
There’s an area of your homepage that allows you to quickly find out what content is available in Ultra HD. When you order pay-per-view content, you’ll see the whether it’s available in Ultra HD in the price icon, which is found exactly where you see the SD and HD logos.
Can I watch my Ultra HD recordings using other terminals in the house?
With the Multi-Room feature, you can watch your Ultra HD recordings on illico 4K Ultra HD PVRs anywhere in your home. illico New Generation terminals only display content in SD and HD formats.
