Accessing Ultra HD content with a home theatre system
The equipment used to access Ultra HD content, including your TV, HDMI cables, and home theatre device, must be Ultra HD-compatible.
Scenario 1 – Your home theatre is compatible with Ultra HD, complies with HDMI 2.0 standards and uses High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP 2.2).
Connect the Terminal to the home theatre device with an HDMI cable. The Terminal must also be connected to your Ultra HD TV using an HDMI cable.
Refer to your home theatre user manual for more information on connecting your device.
Scenario 2 – Your home theatre is NOT compatible with Ultra HD, does not comply with HDMI 2.0 standards and does not use HDCP 2.2.
The Terminal must be connected to your TV directly using an HDMI cable. Only the audio output should be connected to your home theatre. Please see the Home theatre section.
Please refer to your home theatre user manual for more information on connecting your device.
Viewing Ultra HD content on your 4K TV:
The equipment used to access Ultra HD content, including your TV, HDMI cables, and home theatre components, must be Ultra HD-compatible.
Your TV and home theatre must comply with HDMI 2.0 standards and use High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP 2.2).
HDCP 2.2 is required by content producers to ensure adequate copy protection.
We recommend using the cable that came with the Terminal for optimal image quality. If a replacement cable is used, the new cable must comply with either the HDMI 1.4 (Category 2) or HDMI 2.0 standards to allow for Ultra HD viewing. If you encounter display problems when using a replacement cable, please use the cable provided by Videotron.
