Samsung Canada has announced that Galaxy Note7 smartphones will be disabled from Canadian wireless networks. Samsung has indeed halted worldwide sales of the Galaxy Note 7, effective October 10, 2016.
It is imperative that you cease using your Galaxy Note 7. You must power down your device and bring it to the Videotron store nearest you as soon as possible.
The SIM card in your Galaxy Note7 will work in most other LTE Videotron smartphones without wireless service interruption.
Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or given away in Canada. Please also be advised of Transport Canada’s notice to prohibit Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices in carry-on and checked baggage on flights. This means you cannot board a plane with your device.
Be advised that if you do not return your Galaxy Note 7, you could be held responsible for any damage caused by the device.
Please do not hesitate to consult one of our in-store advisers with any questions. They will be happy to respond.
