Device with defective signal, and network coverage
A number of factors can weaken your mobile phone’s signal. To improve coverage, contact Videotron’s Technical Support.
When you use your mobile phone in roaming mode, it is possible that the network won’t capture your signal. :
A number of factors can cause this, including:
- network topography
- type of construction where you are
whether or not the place you are attempting to access the network from is on a border (between two networks)
absence of an automatic transfer protocol between the Videotron network and its partner network.
If you do not receive a signal in certain zones, you can help us to improve our network coverage through gradual deployment by contacting Technical Support. Thanks in advance for your cooperation!
Accidental roaming happens when you use your mobile phone in an area that is part of Videotron’s extended network, and the signal from your device is accidentally captured by an unrecognized antenna. Accidental roaming usually occurs when you are in a border area, i.e. one served by both Videotron’s extended network and another network.
Yes, your device will automatically access the Videotron partner network. However, if you’re in the middle of a conversation, the transfer process will interrupt your conversation. If this happens, just call the other party back.
