Windows Live 2011 - new IMAP account

WARNING: The following animations are a SIMULATION. For the actions described below to take effect, you must apply them to your software.

Step 1

Open Windows Live Mail 2011.

Select Accounts in the menu bar.

Step 2

Click on Email.

Step 3

In the field marked Email Address, enter your Videotron email address in lower case and without accents.

In the field marked Password, enter your password in lower case and without accents.

In the field marked Display Name for Your Sent Messages, type your name as you would like it to appear in your emails.

Check Manually Configure Server Settings.

Click on Next.

Step 4

In the field marked Server Type, select IMAP.

In the field marked Server Address under Incoming Server Information, type imap.videotron.ca and make sure the port is set to 143.

In the field marked Server Address under Outgoing Server Information, type relais.videotron.ca.

Change the port number from 25 to 587.*

Check Requires Authentication.

In the field marked Logon User name, enter your Videotron email address in lower case and without accents.

Click on Next.

*Port 587 ensures that Videotron's SMTP service remains available regardless of the network through which you access it.

Step 5

Click on Finish to complete your account set-up.

PLEASE NOTE:

The maximum size for an outgoing email is 25 MB. The maximum storage capacity for each email box is 2 GB; the storage capacity can be increased to

10 GB for $9.95/year. The maximum size for an incoming email depends on the sender’s email server.
