Connecting a computer to my household wi-fi

Connect an Apple computer with Mac OSX 10.6, 10.8 and 10.9

STEP 1

First, find the name of your wireless network (SSID), as well as your WPA key (your password).

This information can normally be found at the back of your router.
STEP 2

Click on the network  icon located in the top-right corner of your desktop screen to see a list of the available wireless networks.
STEP 3

Select your network (SSID)

Check that your network is still secure. Do not give away your WPA key.

NOTE: Your WPA key may alternatively be labelled PASSWORD. Your network may be labelled SSID.

Enter your WPA Key
Check the REMEMBER THIS NETWORK box to reconnect automatically.

Next, click on JOIN or CONNECT. Once the authentication has succeeded, your wireless connection should activate itself.
