Recording a program

To record a program while watching it:

  • Follow the directions in procedure A to watch the channel of your choice.
  • If you have programmed the terminal’s remote to control the television’s volume, adjust it to maximum.
  • Begin recording by pressing the REC button on the VCR. If you have programmed the terminal’s remote to control the VCR, press the remote’s red REC button to begin recording.
  • Turn on the VCR and select the VCR’s LINE input by pressing the VCR’s LINE, AUX, AV or CAM buttons, or by tuning to channel 00, 01, 91 or 99, depending on how the VCR’s LINE/TUNER switch works.

To record a digital program while watching an analog program:

  • Tune in to the desired channel on the terminal.
  • Turn on the VCR and select the LINE input by pressing the LINE, AUX, AV or CAM buttons on the VCR, or by selecting channel 00, 01, 91 or 99, depending on how the LINE/TUNER switch on the VCR works (refer to the VCR’s user guide).
  • Using the terminal, select the channel you wish to record.
  • Start the recording by pressing the REC button on the VCR. If you have programmed the terminal’s remote to control the VCR, press the remote’s red REC button to begin recording.
  • Select TV mode on the VCR using the TV/VCR button on the VCR's remote control.
  • Choose the analog channel you want to watch using the TV's remote control.

To record one or more programs while you are away:

  • If you have programmed the terminal’s remote to control the television’s volume, adjust it to maximum.
  • Press the SETTINGS button on the terminal’s remote control twice.
  • Move the cursor to the TIMER VCR option and follow the instructions on the screen. You can set the terminal to record different channels at different times.
    Examples :
    Channel 25 Tues. 26 - 08 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
    Channel 35 Tues. 26 - 08 from 1:30 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.
  • Use the VCR TIMER function on your VCR to start recording at the desired time. Use the example below to program the VCR TIMER function:
    Example :
    Channel A/Vm (LINE) Tues. 26 - 08 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
    Channel A/Vm (LINE) Tues. 26 - 08 from 1:30 a.m. to 3:00 a.m

To view a video or pre-recorded program:

  • Turn on the TV and the VCR.
  • Tune the television to channel 3.
  • Start playing the video (press PLAY). Adjust the volume on the TV or stereo tuner, depending on the connection that is established.
