What does the illico App do?
The illico App allows you to access Club illico titles, free content and content from the channels in your TV package. Create your own profile add titles to your favorites to benefit from the best entertainment experience!
Which operating systems is the illico App compatible with?

The illico App is compatible with Android 4.4+ and iOS 9+.


In order to offer customers an optimal experience, certain functionalities have been redesigned. The proper functioning of the illico App and the intuitive interface require an up-to-date operating system.

Club illico mobile

What’s Club illico mobile?
Club illico mobile is a service which gives you unlimited access to movies, series, shows for young kids and documentaries. It is available only on mobile and tablet devices through the illico app.
How can I get Club illico mobile?
Videotron customers who are subscribed to an eligible mobile plan have access to Club illico mobile without any additional fees. Viewing content in the illico app uses mobile or Wi-Fi data. You will be billed for any usage beyond your monthly limit.
What platforms can I use to view Club illico mobile content?
Club illico mobile content is available on mobile and tablet devices, on iOS and Android. To access the content on illico.TV or on your TV with an illico set top box, you must subscribe to Club illico.
How can I subscribe to Club illico?
Visit our website at illico.tv in the Club illico section and follow the instructions. If you are not a Videotron customer, call us at 1 888 433-6876.
How much does Club illico cost?

Am I automatically subscribed to Club illico if I am a Videotron customer?
No. Club illico is a complementary offer. However, if you are subscribed to an eligible mobile plan, you have access to Club illico mobile.

What should I do if I am asked for my username and password?
You must use the same authentication information (username and password) as the ones used for your Videotron Customer Centre.
How can I register for the Customer Centre?
If you are not yet a registered user of the Customer Centre, you can easily sign up by visiting Videotron’s website.
I forgot my authentication information to access the Customer Centre. Is it possible to retrieve it?
You can easily retrieve your username and password by visiting the Customer Centre section of Videotron’s website.

Access to Content

Can I watch content recorded on my illico Terminal in the illico App?

With the illico App, you can program your recordings as well as consult and manage your list of recordings on all your illico Terminals (first generation and New Generation). However, the recordings made with your illico Terminal are not accessible with the illico App.

Can content be accessed outside of Canada?
Viewing content is only possible from within Canada due to legal agreements between Videotron and its content providers.
What content do I get?
You have access to Club illico and free content as well as content from subscribed channels in your TV package.
Why are some of the channels that are part of my TV package not accessible in the illico App?
Unfortunately the channels currently offered on illico TV are not all accessible in the illico App because some of our partners do not possess Internet broadcast rights for their programming. However, since our goal is to offer a maximum of channels and content to our customers, we integrate new channels and content into the illico App whenever broadcast rights allow it, which allows our content offering to constantly evolve. TV channel content, whether live or on-demand, is reserved exclusively for Videotron TV customers. To watch a channel's content, the channel must be part of the customer's TV package.
Why is some live content unavailable?
illico TV's partner channels do not always possess Internet broadcast rights for certain programs. This means they have the legal obligation to block access to this content. In such cases, a notification will be displayed to inform customers of the situation.
The HD channels in my TV package are not all accessible for viewing in HD in the illico App. Why?
Unfortunately, the channels currently offered in HD on illico TV cannot all be broadcast in HD in the illico App because our partners do not possess Internet broadcast rights in HD for all of their programming. Since our objective is to offer the best image quality to our customers, we integrate HD quality into the illico App’s channels and content whenever broadcast rights allow it.
I would like to add a channel to my TV package.
The ico_abonnement_black symbol indicates that a channel is not part of your package. To add it, tap on the icon and follow the steps displayed on screen, or visit the Television section of the Videotron Customer Centre.
I would like to order paid content
It is possible to order paid content on Android devices. During the rental period, you can continue watching previously viewed content on any device capable of displaying the content. To avoid unauthorized orders, you must re-enter your authentication information if more than two hours have elapsed since you first entered your password.
How can I order paid content?
To order paid content, access the content page, then select the screen on which you would like to watch the content. You must then enter your password to confirm the order.
For how long will I have access to the content I paid for?
The duration of the rental depends on the kind of content that was ordered. Nevertheless, the rental period begins the moment the order is confirmed.
How is paid content billed?
The amount due for any paid content ordered will automatically be added to your Videotron bill.

Viewing

What is high definition?

High definition (HD) is a display quality that allows for exceptional image clarity. It provides a resolution of up to 720p, which allows you to watch HD channels and on-demand content such as HD movies.

 

When a channel or other content is offered in HD, HD viewing is possible if all of the following conditions are met:

  • Your mobile device is HD compatible
  • You have Internet access with download speeds of at least 10 Mbps
  • Your video settings support HD viewing

By default, content is broadcast in HD in the tablet version of the illico App and in SD in the mobile version of the illico App. It is possible to change the default view settings for each device.

Is it possible to watch content on Wi-Fi and mobile networks?

The illico App can be used on mobile networks (3G, 4G and LTE) and on Wi-Fi networks.

 

On mobile networks, content is shown in SD by default. It is possible to switch to HD by changing the preferences in the illico App.

How fast does your Internet connection have to be to watch content in the illico App?

For the best quality image, we recommend an Internet connection with a download speed of at least 10 Mbps.

Why did my session suddenly quit on my mobile phone?

A viewing session in the illico App will be interrupted for several seconds when the device switches from LTE or 3G/4G mobile networks or from a Wi-Fi network to a 3G/4G/LTE mobile network. The program you are watching will automatically restart a few seconds after the interruption.

 

On mobile networks, viewing sessions will be interrupted if you receive a phone call. You must manually restart the video after you have ended the call.

How many simultaneous video streams am I allowed with my account?

Your account allows for a single simultaneous video stream. Two users cannot simultaneously stream videos on the same account.

Data Usage

Does watching content in the illico App consume Internet data?

Watching content in the illlico App requires the use of data, whether you are connected to Wi-Fi or a mobile network. Additional charges will be billed if you consume more than the monthly data allowance included in your Internet plan and your Mobile plan. It is important that you familiarize yourself with your monthly data allowance included in the Internet and Mobile plans you are subscribed to.


To see your Internet and Mobile data usage history, or to buy a Data Add-on for a specific need, visit the Customer Centre at videotron.com. You can also consult your data use history in the User Centre + application.

What is my approximate data usage if I watch content in the illico App?

One hour of watching continuous HD content requires approximately 2GB of data.
One hour of watching continuous SD content requires approximately 560MB of data.


Data consumption for HD content in the illico App
30 minutes of content: approximately 1GB
10 minutes of content: approximately 333MB


Data consumption for SD content in the illico App
30 minutes of content: approximately 280MB
10 minutes of content: approximately 93MB

How can I manage my data consumption?

On mobile networks, content is seen in SD by default, which requires less data consumption than in HD. HD quality is not activated on mobile networks.


However, it is possible to watch content in HD on mobile networks as well as Wi-Fi networks. In the illico App, tap on the Profile button in the upper-right corner of the screen, select Settings, then Video Quality and activate HD Quality for each network.


The settings selected will apply only to the device you are using.

How can I change the illico App's default interface language?
The illico App is offered in French and English and the interface language corresponds to that of the operating system of your device.
How do I log out of the Customer Centre?
To log out of the App, tap the button on the upper right, select Settings, select Sign in information, and then Sign out.
PROFILES
What are profiles?

Creating a profile allows you to personalize the illico App's content according to your preferences, thereby optimizing your experience, especially if you share the illico App with others on the same mobile device or tablet. If necessary, you can create several profiles.


Your profile contains information such as your favourite channels, genres and content, and your preferences for masking adult movies.

How do I create a profile?
A default profile is created the moment the illico App is installed. Touch the profile button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to manage your profile and to add others.
How do I add content to my list of favourites?
You can personalize your content in My illico. Your favourites are saved by tapping on the star next to the title of the content. You can also choose which channels and categories (humour, action, kids, etc.) you prefer in your profile as well as create your own content library.
Why is content that is part of my favourites no longer available?
It is not available because we only retain broadcast rights for content for a limited period of time.
How can I share content?
It is possible to share your favourite content with your friends. You will find social media sharing icons on every content page.
REMOTE CONTROL
What is the remote control feature?
The remote control feature allows you to access your New Generation illico Terminals without using a physical remote control. It also allows you to tune into your favourite channels with a single tap.
How do I activate this feature?
The remote control feature can be activated by tapping on the topbar_remote_black icon, which is located in the upper right-hand corner of most illico App screens.

How do I change to another illico Terminal?
You can change illico Terminals using the bar displayed at the top of the illico App. This bar displays all your New Generation illico TV Terminals. The last illico Terminal to have been used will be retained by default in your profile.
How do I rename a TV Terminal?
You can rename your illico Terminals in Settings. By assigning names such as Living Room, Master Bedroom, etc., you will be able to recognize the Terminals more easily.
Why is the message "Blocked content" shown on some content pages?
In the Program Guide, content categorized as 18 and over (18+), which is reserved for adult viewing, is blocked. You can unblock the content by changing your profile preferences in the illico App.
RECORDING CONTENT
Remotely program your PVR

The illico App gives you access to the recording functions of your PVR (first generation and New Generation illico Terminals).


You can program new recordings using the Program Guide or the content page for live broadcasts. You will find your recordings in the My Recordings section of My illico. Your recorded shows will be waiting for you at home, ready to be watched on your TV. Note, however, that recordings made with your illico Terminal cannot be watched in the illico App.

Pick up where you left off
You can continue watching on-demand content exactly at the point at which your last viewing was interrupted on channel 900 if the rights associated with the content allow for Internet broadcast. It is possible to access content by selecting Resume Viewing under My illico.
SEARCH
How can I search for content?

By tapping on the magnifying glass or in the search field located at the top of the screen, you can search by title (for live, recorded and on-demand content), by an actor's or director's name or the name of a channel. The results will be organized according to these categories.


A search will be conducted on all content in the illico App catalogue.

Content Streaming

It seems like some content cannot be played on a second screen with Airplay or a HDMI adapter?

The illico App is compatible with Airplay or a HDMI adapter. Depending on the content, these functions may be enabled or not according to the content provider’s limitations.


Casting a Club illico mobile content with Airplay requires a Club illico subscription.
