What are mailbox settings?

These settings let you define the number of rings before voicemail answers the call.

How do I change the number of rings before voicemail answers the call?

Choose the number of rings included between 1 and 9. The delay corresponding to the number of rings is indicated in the chart. A ring cycle lasts approximately six seconds.

How can I initialize my voicemail?

You must initialize the voicemail service to make it operational. Your voicemail is initialized the first time you access it.

• Click the “Voicemail” button located in the upper right corner of the screen. The automated message system will first ask for your temporary password.
  
• Use the digital keypad at the bottom of the main Softphone window to browse through voicemail. Your temporary password corresponds to the four last numbers of your Softphone telephone number, followed by 99.
  
  For example, if your telephone number is 514-281-1711, the temporary password will be 171199. 

Next, the system will give you specific instructions to guide you through a few steps. Your voicemail will then be ready to take your messages automatically.

How will I know if I have received new voicemail messages?

When you have a new voicemail message, the “Voicemail” button located in the upper-right corner of the screen appears blinking in green. Click this button to access your voicemail and listen to your messages.

How can I configure my Softphone to retrieve my messages with one click?

Once your voicemail has been initialized, you must specify the password for your Softphone voicemail.

Open Softphone Preferences in the “Voicemail” menu, and enter your password followed by “pound, comma, comma, one.” Thus, when you have voicemail messages, the Softphone “Voiceail” button will blink green, and you can retrieve your message with a single click of this button.

Note: The password is then stored locally and unencrypted on your computer.

How can I access my voicemail?
