VoLTE feature

Videotron’s VoLTE feature allows users to make free HD calls on the LTE network and enjoy clearer calls thanks to wide band audio.

 

To access this feature, you need a VoLTE-compatible device and a VoLTE SIM card. You also need to activate the feature in your account.

What are the main advantages to using the VoLTE feature?
The VoLTE feature enables HD-quality calls between Videotron customers, an improved intra-building coverage and a faster call connection. Please note that it is now possible to send video calls with select Android devices.
What do I need to access at  VoLTE feature?

To use the VoLTE feature, you need to meet the following three conditions:
1. Have a VoLTE-compatible device. See the complete list of compatible phones here:

2. Have a VoLTE SIM card
3. Activate the VoLTE feature in your account.


Compatible devices:

  • iPhone 7

  • iPhone 7+

Other devices will be added in the future.

 

Go to the Information on Your Device section in the Customer Centre to see if you meet all three of the above conditions.

How do I activate the VoLTE feature on my device?

Is using voice over LTE more expensive?

The VoLTE feature is free. It can be accessed at all times, as long as you are connected to Videotron’s LTE network and meet the conditions listed here.

Does using the VoLTE feature generate Mobile data usage?
The feature uses Mobile data only when you make or receive video calls. Data used will be deducted from your Mobile plan. Additional fees may apply should you exceed your plan’s monthly data allowance.
What are LTE network coverage areas?

When you subscribe to any Videotron Mobile plan, you get access to an ultra-fast, ultra-vast network that covers all of Canada. Click here for a map of all the areas covered by Videotron’s LTE network.

Can I use the VoLTE feature on BYOD LTE device?

Customers subscribed to a Videotron service but with no agreement, and who own an unlocked VoLTE-compatible iPhone with VoLTE SIM card can use the VoLTE feature. However, they need to activate the feature before being able to use it. Here’s how to activate the VoLTE feature:
