What is Unlimited Music?
Unlimited Music is a program that allows users to stream music without using their Mobile plan’s data allowance when they do so through the most popular apps listed here.
Is it really unlimited?
Yes. You can stream as much music as you want using the apps listed here.
What music streaming services are included in Unlimited Music?

Here is the list of apps included in the Unlimited Music service.

This applies to the following channels:

  • ESPN Radio – Live
        Live stream of ESPN Radio’s shows and live events
  • ESPN Deportes – Live
        Lo ultimo del mundo deportivo
  • ESPN New York - Live
        Live streaming ESPN Radio 98.7FM New York
  • ESPN Los Angeles - LIVE
        Live streaming ESPN Radio 710 AM Los Angeles
  • ESPN Chicago - LIVE
        Live streaming ESPN Radio 1000 AM Chicago.

Do all customers have access to Unlimited Music?

Unlimited Music is available to all Mobile customers who are subscribed to a Premium All-Inclusive Canada plan and have an LTE SIM card or an LTE device running Windows Phone, Windows 10 Mobile, iOS, Android or BlackBerry configured for our LTE network.

  • Unlimited Music is not available to customers who subscribe to an All-Inclusive Canada-US plan.
  • If you are permanently connected to a virtual private network (VPN), you will be unable to access Unlimited Music due to technical reasons. Data usage generated via music streaming will be deducted from your monthly plan.
Do I have to pay for Unlimited Music?
No. Unlimited Music comes included with Premium All-Inclusive Canada plans and the All-Inclusive Canada 1GB plan as part of a Internet + Mobile Duo.
Are all music streaming apps included in Unlimited Music?
No. The music streaming apps included with the service are listed here. This list is subject to change without prior notice.
Will other music streaming apps be added to the list?

Of course!  All services that provide licensed content from various sources may be added to the Unlimited Music app list.

How do I know if my favourite app is eligible to be added to the Unlimited Music service? What is a “music streaming service”?

All music streaming services must provide licensed content from various sources. The sources may include some or all of the following platforms: platforms that handle the digital rights management of record company content, global platforms and other commercial music streaming platforms.

Services that will not be included are, but not limited to:

    • Music streaming services from private or unlicensed sources;
    • All video content.
I am a music streaming service provider. How can I become a part of Unlimited Music?

If you’re a music streaming provider and you’d like to get involved in our Unlimited Music service, leave us a private message on our Facebook page! We’ll explain how to get started with Unlimited Music. You will, however, need to meet certain criteria:

  • All music streaming services must provide licensed content from various sources. The sources may include some or all of the following platforms: platforms that handle the digital rights management of record company content, global platforms and other commercial music streaming platforms.
  • Services that will not be included are, but not limited to, as follows:
    • Music streaming services from private or unlicensed sources;
    • All video content.
Does Unlimited Music work outside of Canada?
No. If you stream music while travelling abroad, you’ll incur data roaming charges, even if you use the apps listed on Videotron’s website.
Does Unlimited Music work on the extended network?
Yes. Data usage generated on partner networks is not deducted from your plan’s monthly data allowance. However, your total data usage is subject to extended network usage rules.
Does Unlimited Music work in tethering mode?
When in streaming mode, you can listen to music (for free!) directly on the mobile device with which you are subscribed to a Premium All-Inclusive Canada plan. When in tethering mode, however, the data used to listen to music will be deducted from your plan’s monthly data allowance.
What is the transmission rate for streaming music?  

Unlimited Music lets you stream music at 128 Kbps, which is the average transmission rate for today’s apps. Data usage resulting from streaming music at speeds higher than 128 Kbps (high speed or high definition) may be deducted from your plan’s monthly data allowance. 

 

Is the data used to access the apps listed on Videotron’s website free?
No. Only data used to stream music won’t be deducted from your plan’s data allowance. Data used to watch videos, launch searches, view album covers, download songs or listen to Internet radio or other streams will be deducted from your plan’s monthly data allowance. Data used when browsing the websites associated with these apps will also be deducted from your monthly allowance.

Is it also free to use my music streaming app to stream?
This offer only applies to streaming audio. All other types of content, including video, streamed in any of the apps are excluded from this offer.

Is the music service subscription free?

No. Only streaming music is free. You are responsible for any fees related to the music service subscription.
Does Videotron’s Technical Support team offer assistance when it comes to other providers’ apps?
Videotron’s Technical Support team only offers assistance for your mobile connection and questions of a general nature. For more information on how to use these apps, please refer to their respective websites.
