Using voice mail
Videotron’s voice-mail service offers you a number of options. Learn to use and customize them to meet your needs. Consult user guide.  

To make your voice mail operational, you must first activate it. This is necessary only the first time you access the system. Here’s how to activate your voice mail:

  • Press 1 and keep your finger on the key. This key is a shortcut to your voice mail.
  • Enter your temporary Personal Identification Number (PIN). This PIN consists of the last four digits of your phone number, followed by 99#. For example, if your phone number is 514 281-1711, your temporary PIN is 171199#.
  • The system will then ask you to modify your PIN. Choose a 4- to 8-digit PIN.
  • You will be asked to record your name. Record your name by following the voice prompt. You have up to 30 seconds to record your name.
  • Then, you will be asked to record your welcome message. Record your message by following the instructions provided by the voice prompt. The welcome message can be up to 3 minutes long.

Once these steps have been completed, your voice mail is activated and ready to receive messages.

 

If you have subscribed to the Voice Messages by Email service, you will receive an email informing when a voicemail is received. For more details, view the questions in the Voice Messages by Email section.

Here are two easy ways to access your voicemail in order to retrieve your
messages:

 

- From your mobile phone:

Press and hold 1.
Enter your PIN followed by #.

 

- From any other phone:

Dial your 10-digit mobile phone number.

As soon as you hear your welcome message, press 1 (before the end of the message).
Enter your PIN followed by #.

Yes. Simply press # at the beginning of the message. You can then leave your message after the beep.

You can reset your PIN by accessing one of the functionalities at Customer Centre.

 

The temporary password you will receive corresponds to the last four digits of your phone number, followed by 99. You must change your PIN the next time you use your voice mail.

Yes. Simply access your voice mail and select option 2 from the main menu. Then dial the phone number of the Videotron subscriber for whom you wish to leave a message, followed by #.
How to configure and receive voice messages by email, and the conditions for using this service.
Yes. To receive voice messages by email, simply subscribe to the Voice Messages by Email service. This way, messages left on your voice mail will be forwarded to your email inbox as attachments in audio (.wav) format. Open this file to listen to the message.

Yes. If you have subscribed to Videotron’s voice mail service, offered with cable and mobile telephony, the number of the voice mail where your message was left is indicated in the email’s “Subject” field.

You must:

  • have an email account with Videotron
  • have subscribed to Videotron’s mobile voice mail service
  • be a customer of one of Videotron’s cable Internet or mobile Internet (key) services
