The end of mobile payment

Desjardins mobile payment to be cancelled – Residential customers

Desjardins has chosen to modify their mobile payment solutions. As such, starting January 1, 2018, it will no longer be possible to use the Desjardins mobile payment app or to subscribe to services related to the app. As of January 1, 2018, we invite Residential customers to use Android Pay or Apple Pay for all their transactions.

What should I do with the Desjardins mobile payment app that is currently installed on my smartphone?
As of January 1, 2018, the Desjardins mobile payment app will display an error message when opened and will no longer be functional. We therefore recommend you delete the app from your phone.
Are Android Pay and Apple Pay safe to use?
Both of these mobile payment solutions are already offered to Desjardins members, and meet all security and accessibility standards.
What is the difference between Desjardins mobile payment and Android Pay/Apple Pay?

With Android and Apple Pay, users can:

  • Add several types of cards (debit, prepaid, credit)
  • Use the service online, in-store and in the apps themselves
  • Install the service on a wider range of phones
  • View their recent transactions

However, with Android Pay and Apple Pay you cannot personalize your cards or use the Always Active mode available in the Desjardins mobile payment app.

Desjardins mobile payment to be cancelled – Business customers

Desjardins has chosen to modify their mobile payment solutions. As such, starting January 1, 2018, it will no longer be possible to use the Desjardins mobile payment app or to subscribe to services related to the app. Business customers do not have access to Google’s Android Pay service.

 

As of January 1, 2018, the Desjardins mobile payment app will display an error message when opened and will no longer be functional. We therefore recommend you delete the app from your phone.
