The more recent your protocol, the greater your chances of obtaining speed and range. The router and wireless card must support the protocol you’re using (e.g. 802.11n). Don’t count on achieving the theoretical speeds cited on the router box.
Wireless connection speed
||Vitesse maximum théorique
||Vitesse approx. en pratique
||3 to 5 Mbps
||54 Mbps / 108gMbps
||24 to 36 Mbps
||150 Mbps / 300MB (2 bands)
* 802.11n offers better range.
You’ll never achieve the optimal speed of high-speed access with a 802.11b wireless router. The same goes for Ultimate High Speed 30 or over with a 802.11b or 802.11g.
We recommend that you use a RJ45 network cable. If not, and if you have 802.11b access, we suggest you update your equipment by using more recent technology (802.11g or 802.11n).
