Rates for use of optional services
Mobile Email, text messaging, photo, and video messaging: what are the rates that apply to optional services? This section addresses all your questions on this topic.

Videotron offers a choice of monthly packages that let you send a number of text messages, photo, and video messages, and emails at preferential rates.
If you have subscribed to one of these packages, the emails you open and send are deducted from your package. If you exceed the number of messages provided for in your package or if you have not subscribed to a package, opened and sent emails are charged individually.

Note: These rates also apply when you are travelling in Canada.

When roaming outside Canada, charges may apply for sending and receiving email. In certain cases, they may be deducted from the monthly message package you have subscribed to or they will be charged at a fixed rate per use if you have not subscribed to a package. Data-transmission charges when roaming may also apply.

Incoming text messages are free and unlimited.

For outgoing text messages, Videotron offers a choice of monthly packages enabling you to send a predetermined number of text messages, photo and video messages, and emails at preferential rates.

No, if your text message isn’t sent from your mobile, no charge will be incurred. To check if a message has been sent from your mobile, go into MESSAGING, then SENT MESSAGES. If it has been sent, it should be displayed. If it is not there, go into MESSAGING, then OUTBOX to confirm that your message has not yet been sent. The mobile will attempt to resend it. If you wish to cancel the email, choose the message in question, press OPTIONS, and then press DELETE.

Note: Names of commands and keys may vary depending on the mobile phone and provider.

In most cases, yes. If you typed in an incorrect but active phone number, Videotron will deliver your message to the incorrect recipient. If the phone number doesn’t exist, Videotron will not bill the message. However, if the message recipient is offline for more than 72 hours, you must still pay for the message.
Your message will be divided and sent in two or more messages. Note that they will be counted and billed as two or more messages, depending on how your message is divided.

On Videotron’s extended network, incoming photo and video messages are free and unlimited.
