Configuration of a native client

These instructions apply to the use of native email client on your mobile device. Using this application loads data transfer, charges apply

 

Nokia

1. Select Menu -> Messaging - > Mailbox.

2. Select Internet "Media".

3. Choose "Yes" to the question "Allow application to use the network to send or receive data?"

4. Select the email supplier of your choice.

 

Android

From the home screen -> Menu -> open the "Email" application.

 

Configuration of an email account from Videotron
1. Enter your Videotron email adress (e.g. name@videotron.ca, name@videotron.qc.ca, name@tv.videotron.ca, etc.), followed by the email account password.

2. Follow the instructions.

 

Note : To avoid charges that could lead to over consumption of data, it is strongly recommended you configure your email account in IMAP mode.

 

If available to your mobile device, select IMAP account. It is easy to configure and will allow you to synchronize emails between your mobile phone and your computer.

 

1. Enter incoming IMAP server parameters as follows:

Username: Videotron email address or vl code
Password: appropriate account password
IMAP Server: imap.videotron.ca
Port: 143
Type of Security: None
IMAP prefix: (Leave this field blank.)

 

2. Enter outgoing server parameters as follows:

SMTP Server: relais.videotron.ca
Port: 587
Security Type: None
Require Sign-in
Username: Videotron email address or vl code
Password: appropriate account password

 

If IMAP access does not work with your account, go to the POP3 section.

 

1. Enter incoming POP3 server parameters as follows:
Username: Videotron email address or vl code
Password: appropriate account password
POP3 server: pop.videotron.ca
Port: 110
Type of Security: None

 

2. Enter outgoing mail server parameters as follows:
SMTP Server: relais.videotron.ca
Port: 587
Type of Security: None
Require Sign-in
Username: Videotron email address or vl code
Password: appropriate account password

 

Note:

1. This configuration method id valid for Videotron email accounts (videotron.ca, biz.videotron.ca, vl.videotron.ca and videotron.qc.ca). It should not be used for the hosted email service for business.

 

2. Please note that only port 587 is enabled for SMTP server; relais.videotron.ca (port 25, via the 3G network, is not).
